Ich habe als #Linux Bedienoberfläche #KDE / #Plasma und dazu passend das CD Programm #K3B installiert.
Ich lege einfach eine Audio CD ins Laufwerk, öffne sie in K3B und kann dann die Stücke/Lieder einzeln oder als Verzeichnis in beliebigen Formaten, zum Beispiel #MP3, #Flac, #OggVorbis und andere irgendwohin kopieren.

I remember that a helluva long time ago, getting #iTunes to work with #OggVorbis files was mildly complicated. Hmmm... I wonder if iTunes app these days works better? Maybe even supports #Opus codec?
[Answer: Lol of COURSE not, also QuickTime for Windows is dead so good luck getting iTunes to work with Vorbis these days]

Most of the old music collection is actually in #OggVorbis format. I'm wondering if I should re-rip bunch of my #audiocds to #FLAC and re-encode them with #Opus codec.
...oh and there's actually a big pile of CDs that I've not ripped *at all!* ...it's near the end of the blessed year 2025 and guess I'll need to get me a CD ripper application, would you believe that. Hmm, I have an USB DVD drive for my laptop, but I'm kinda glad I didn't remove the DVD drive from the old junk PC, actually. Bet the CD ripper sitch and batch processing is still better on Linux.
Also the old exfiltrated collection doesn't have a whooole lot of recent #iTunes purchases either. And a bunch of #Steam game soundtracks. And...
...jeez, I've got a bunch of work ahead of me with this collection, don't I?
@bagder #Rockbox was the only reason I bought an iPod Nano. Back in these days my whole music library in #oggvorbis could fit on it. 🎶
I'm surprised the audio codec Opus hasn't taken off more. It's a successor to Vorbis that is, as I understand it, comparable to an MP3 at 320 kbps at just 160 kbps and can go up to 510 kbps. It's been around since 2012, that's plenty of time for adoption.

Which #Wizarding #audio format is most free and #OpenSource? This list is from some of the options available for export in #Audacity #AudioEditor. If there are others, would be interested in hearing about them.

Ich überlege, die Formate #OggVorbis und #Opus nicht mehr anzubieten, nur #MP3 und #M4A. Jedoch gibt es da ein paar Downloads, je << 1 % aller Downloads. Warum nutzt ihr die? Was spricht gegen die Einstellung?

Ci deve essere stato un errore di codifica o utilizza un codec che non è digeribile da peertube.
#Peertube non è nato per i formati audio, ci sta che non supporti tutto, per questo c'è #funkwhale ;)
Inoltre nel medio periodo su #funkwhale è più semplice gestire e navigare su un ampio catalogo di canzoni rispetto a #peertube
