Just got the reverse lightning strike of the whole world going dark, when a plane briefly eclipses the sun. That usually only happens at my place in the summer, so somebody wasn't lined up properly for their approach (or they were already starting a go-around).

Layover at #Chicago #Ohare, got some very disappointing Chinese food and was bummed to not get #malort at the airport bar, but an #OldStyle will have to suffice.

I need to train myself not to check my work email/chat every time I pick up my phone. 💀

Also, if you’re flying through #ORD today, GIVE YOURSELF 3 HOURS FOR DOMESTIC FLIGHTS (2 FOR PRECHECK). Even at 4:30AM the lines were unbelievable - they extended halfway down the ticketing area for Terminal 5.

* #Chicago has never had “dry heat” in the summer. You can usually expect it to be very humid in August. (Although this week is forecast to be unusually nice weather.)

* The #Pedway connects underground RTA train stops and various parts of the city. It’s clean, safe, has public BATHROOMS (usually), and provides a cool walk in hot weather. Look for the yellow compass symbol above and below street level.

Just over 45ya I went to see #Alien when it opened at the #Woodfield mall's movie complex of 2 theatres next to the I90

The world's eyes were opened that day to HR #Giger's nightmare like art regarding #AlienIntelligences.

Probably less than a 100K people had ever seen his work prior to that day. Publishers were afraid to market it to the public for fear it might be banned in unenlighted parts

I was really jazzed to see it after being subjected to an early coordinated ad campaign that had begun weeks earlier that consisted of little more than a commercial showing LED segments slowly activating to create the word Alien with a short sequence of rapid cuts of action and sets.

I was horrified at start

#Protestors in support of #Palestine are engaging in a sitting #protest across a major highway, just outside of #OHareAirport in #Chicago. They have completely stopped all traffic coming into the airport, both for pick-ups and for drop-offs.

This is an extremely busy section of 8-lane roadway, and is also expected to affect other morning rush-hour commuter traffic in the area. The protest could possibly impact #AirTraffic across the country, as countless people have been unable to make their flights.

Protestors chose today because April 15th is #TaxDay, the "due date" for all US citizens to pay their taxes. The protestors want people to consider where their tax dollars are going.

Unfortunately, their message has gotten buried in the local headlines by the concurrent #TrumpTrial.

Lucked out this #sundayfunday. Stayed at the #Hyatt by #OHare after #bfest. Drove my big sister up to the show. The #chicagowolves were playing at the #allstatearena, but she isn’t the biggest sports fan. Fortunately, made it back down to #Peoria in time to catch the #Rivermen.

And fortunately, trying to record the video of the first goal from the video board didn’t work out. That’s good since the #goal celebration song is #nickelback
