The Ventura County Operational Area EOC will be activated to a LEVEL 2 until Wednesday 5 PM, or until the event has subsided.

Two Sheriff’s Emergency Services personnel will be responding immediately to any new incidents to assist with evacuation and shelter coordination.

The VC Alert notification system was activated on 1/19/25 at 9:00 AM to notify approximately 115,700 residents in areas of concern about potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs.

CREWS RESCUE PERSON DURING RESIDENTIAL FIRE THURSDAY NIGHT IN OJAI:
At 11:26pm on Thursday night, April 25 of 2024, a residential fire call was dispatched for Ojai in the 900 block of East Ojai Avenue. The location was an apartment at a complex. The Ventura and Ventura County Fire Department, along with Gold Coast paramedics, responded.
Arriving crews confirmed finding a working fire coming from a unit in the complex. Firefighters rescued a person during the incident, and took them to Gold Coast for assessment.
The fire was reported to be knocked down by about 11:50pm. The fire had exposed to two other units in the complex, according to radio traffic.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department had been requested to respond to help conduct crowd control for people in the area. An investigator had also been requested.
No additional information was available at this time.

CAMARILLO, Calif. – The Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) today announced an emergency shuttle service that will operate between Santa Paula and Ojai to help residents affected by the closure of State Route 150.

The temporary shuttle service will begin Wednesday, March 20, and will operate Monday through Friday. The service will be provided at no cost to passengers.
The shuttle service is being offered in coordination with the County of Ventura, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the California Highway Patrol. The shuttle will be operated by MV Transportation, which also operates the Valley Express bus service in Santa Paula, Fillmore and surrounding unincorporated areas.

Southbound morning and afternoon trips will depart Steckel Park/KOA and will make stops at Thomas Aquinas College, The Summit (Topa Lane), Stonegate Road-Mupu Elementary School and Santa Paula City Hall/Veterans Park. The driver will stop by request (flag stop) at Vons at Highways 33 and 150.
Northbound morning trips will depart Santa Paula City Hall/Veterans Park and will make stops at The Summit (Sisar Road), Thomas Aquinas College and Steckel Park/KOA. Northbound afternoon trips will depart either Stonegate Road-Mupu Elementary School or Santa Paula City Hall/Veterans Park. The driver will stop by request (flag stop) at Vons at Highways 33 and 150. State Route 150 (Ojai-Santa Paula Road) Closed Due to Storm Damage

Caltrans Shuts 12-Mile Section of Highway and Accelerates Emergency Repairs

Ventura County — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) today closed a 12-mile section of State Route 150, the Ojai-Santa Paula Road, due to storm damage which undermined the roadway.

The highway is temporarily closed to through traffic between Stonegate Road in Santa Paula and Reeves Road near Ojai until further notice. Limited local access is allowed into the closed area.

For public safety, Caltrans closed the highway due to growing damage from a landslide which undermined the two-lane roadway along Santa Paula Creek about one-fourth of a mile south of Thomas Aquinas College.

Caltrans is working on an expedited schedule with a contractor to make emergency repairs and reopen the highway as quickly as possible. There is no estimated date or time for reopening.

Caltrans will issue updates on the social-media platform X, formerly Twitter, at @CaltransDist7. Travelers may check current road closures at any time by using Caltrans’ QuickMap service at Quickmap.dot.ca.gov or the free app for digital devices.

Caltrans reminds drivers to “Be Work Zone Alert” and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
