I'm not going on a tirade "linux gooder,windows le badder". I just think the amount of machines 11 is going to turn into ewaste. I hate ewaste. Every machine has a purpose. There's usefulness in things,you just have to look for it. Your tiny netbook with a 400GB HDD might be a nice lil server!

...and now its the turn of #MXLinux, I rebuilt a Satellite Pro Laptop a couple of months ago with MXLinux, and remembered I still had the ISO, so easy to remake another live stick. Incidentally, the Toshiba is another machine that doesn't like many linux distributions because of it's architecture.
Anyway,
It's on, so lets see if I can add the packages I want, so it can actually be functional and usuable again. #OldMachines #ReUse #Linux #MXLinux

So, today I've rebuilt my old Acer AO725 netbook with #Xubuntu 23.04 Jammy Jellyfish, I did have Ubuntu on it, but it's to resource hungry for such an old machine, so I've gone for the lighter version with XFCE desktop environment, I would have liked to try a different #Linux, but other distros do not like the architecture...software wise it does not like Brave, but it has Firefox.
Now a #fediverse client, #Whalebird is my pick, rather than using the web interface. #Linux #OldMachines #Reuse
