Do people still use jQuery in modern frontend engineering? I recently ported my old grid-maker plugin. This wasn't a how-to, but a personal reflection on how web development has evolved.
jQuery's "write less, do more" philosophy and elegant chaining truly captured me. Its compactness felt unrivalled in its prime, even with today's powerful DOM APIs.
Porting old code to modern JavaScript highlighted how verbose vanilla can still feel, despite new APIs and syntactic sugar. It really underscored the journey of "graduating" from jQuery.
Will I stop using jQuery for quick prototypes? Probably not – it's muscle memory. Yet, I see its clear footprints in modern APIs. This whole experience felt like a "coming of age" in code: jQuery is great, but it's time to move forward.

Is producing long, human-authored articles still worthwhile in this era of instant gratification? For some, the mental barrier in writing can feel significant, presenting an interesting struggle.
Exploring collaboration with LLMs seemed a viable approach. Experiments began with AI-assisted projects like Genruler and Genstates, pushing the boundaries of assistance into new domains.
LLMs can be a valuable partner in our work. Treat them as interns for menial jobs, delegating background tasks. LLMs are best treated as a copilot; human control of the actual work is crucial for meeting the actual goal.
The evolved workflow leverages stored instructions and chatbot assistance for planning. This process, and the approach to LLM collaboration, is subject to change as tools inevitably become better over time.
