Opmerkelijk Ă©n schandalig dat andere, zogenaamde nieuwsmedia dat in aanloop van de #ps2023 massaal hebben nagelaten. Niet verrassend, wel verontrustend, die kontenkruiperij van de media.

Eight deputies were elected for the upstart far right #FvD in 2019. Seven then left the party, joining #JA21 or GO and/or going independent. The only one to stay, who'd been number 7 on the FvD list, is also the only one who now got re-elected. But he's refusing the seat: says the #Netherlands is no longer his country and he's leaving politics and moving to Spain.
Neither experience nor expertise gets to be built up in circumstances like these. Is it evidence of exactly that, or rather evidence that none of it matters, that a #JA21 deputy boasted having used #ChatGPT to write his last contribution, and nobody noticed?
The once famously staid Dutch voters have become as fickle as the country's weather, and the cost is seen on boring occasions like the goodbyes of provincial deputies. #Flevoland has 40 of them; 28 are leaving. After the previous elections 28 left too.
An alternate version of the above typological map about the #Netherlands provincial elections, based solely on the ranking among centre-left parties. This one casts its net a little more widely.
Blue: municipalities where the GreenLeft is larger than Labour, and the Party for the Animals is larger than the Socialist Party.

Tried to create a typological map about the #Netherlands provincial elections, based solely on the ranking among centre-left parties.
Blue: municipalities where the GreenLeft is larger than Labour (and the Christian Union), and both the Party for the Animals and Volt are larger than the Socialist Party.

Especially for the smaller parties, the traditional choropleth election maps by @gemeenteamsterdam have great colour schemes for highlighting strengths and weaknesses

The monotonousness of much of #Amsterdam's election map, with either the GreenLeft or (in 2021) D66 sweeping all but the outer suburbs, neatly showcases the socio-political impact of two-three decades of #gentrification.
