In a graveyard at night a monument in the form of a woman sleeping on her side is lit by the golden glow of a grave lantern and the waning gibbous Moon. Lush green trees, grasses, and leaves frame the graves and the mausoleum on the hillside behind her. The Moon's shadowed side contains a sigil for the directive to "Persist."

This drawing is one in a series of drawings based on astrological transits, in this case the conjunction of Venus with the South Node in Virgo on October 4th, 2025.

This artwork doubles as a piece of fan art inspired by Maggie Cheung in the film "Hero."

It stirs the leaves flowing before her, like droplets of blood, as she offers her life experiences to her destiny, releasing what she can no longer carry that she may go forward. The hooded figure in its blood-red cloak holds a moonlight-silvered staff and silently receives the offering. The eyes of some small, hidden creature look out from the nearby tree, the wilderness bearing witness to this dance with fate.

A single note from a handmade flute transformed Spider’s path, leading him from seeker to artisan and a twenty journey sharing music. Today, his instruments — shaped from reclaimed wood and spirit alike — carry the songs of both maker and Earth.

I created this drawing around the Solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21st. The eclipse was opposing Saturn in Pisces with the TNO Arawn at the Point of Thales to that opposition.

TITLE: Living with Uncertainty

Greetings, Dear Friends!

It’s been a while. I wish I were more regular in my writing. I often open up a new post and then *brain freeze* and my brain won’t hold onto words, thoughts, or any kind of coherent thought.

But I’ve been doing a lot of reading and art making. If you’re on Instagram, I’m @angela.raincatcher (original, I know), and I show most of my artwork and daily short musings there.

Back in May, I visited Greece and had a very intense experience praying to Hades at the Plutonian Cave at Eleusis, of which I will talk more later, but today I want to share a few thoughts on life and death.

As we move into the season of dying, increasing darkness, and the returning cold of winteram I talking about the changing of the seasons or the current administration and its continuing destruction of everything good and precious in this work?I contemplate the nature of life, both corporeal and incorporeal.

We talk about death as if it were the opposite of life, but it is not. It is a threshold and state change in the phenomenon of life. Death is the end of this corporeal stage of life the time that we spend in this body, in this time, and in this place. Just as birth was its beginning. Life continues on and on, just in different ways and on different dimensions.

Both birth and deathlike all liminal spacesare uncertain, filled with potential, unknowable, dangerous, and sacred. They are both initiations, taking us from one state or stage of life to another, unknown until we cross that threshold. Throughout life we are faced with initiations, or rites of passage. Usually, we can easily talk to someone who has entered puberty, graduated, gotten married, started a family, retired, to get a sense of what to expect. And those people can tell us about their experience, butlike all Mysteriesno matter what we are told or what we think we know, we cannot know without stepping through and crossing the threshold ourselves.

So, I have my thoughts about death, what life might look like after death, the nature of the spirit and soul, and what happens to them as we cross the thresholdand I want to share those sometime soonbut do I know 100%? No, and I can’t until I make that crossing. No one can, even if they have communication with their gods and spirits. They can talk to us all about the afterlife all day, but just like a long-married person telling someone single about being married, we won’t actually know until we go there ourselves.

And don’t worry. . . We will all cross that threshold and see it for ourselves.

Two hares leap in opposite directions against the backdrop of a deep green field. This fills the bottom half of the design. At the top, a double-fronted cottage on top of a hill stands next to two tall trees. Smoke spirals from the chimney against a blue starlit sky. A white horse runs across the field below the house. The trunks of trees stand to the left and right of the scene. In between the house and horse scene at the top, and the hares at the bottom, sits a small turquoise section in which a badger rests in a sett under one of the trees.

A group of Narwhals swimming together through a turquoise ocean fills the bottom three-quarters of the design. The top quarter is filled with animals, coloured in bright green, leaping across a night sky: reindeer, bears, foxes, hares and birds.

A tabby cat with a wide, toothy grin sits on a branch facing the viewer, front paws curled in front of his chest, tail hanging down behind. Smaller branches, some with oak leaves, grow out from the main branch. The words "We're all mad here" are engraved into the branch under the cat. The design is cast in oranges and yellows.
