Les adultes peuvent être observés de mars à septembre.
Cette espèce a plusieurs générations par an. Ce sont les chrysalides qui passent l'hiver. Les adultes sont très floricoles. Après l'accouplement, les œufs sont pondus isolément sur les feuilles de diverses Apiacées. Les chenilles achèvent leur développement en un mois et se chrysalident sur divers supports.
La répartition de l'espèce couvre l'ensemble de l'Eurasie tempérée, l'Afrique du Nord, l'Asie Mineure et l'est de l'Amérique du Nord. C'est une espèce commune notamment dans les espaces ruraux. Les adultes ont une forte capacité de dispersion. Ils sont observés jusqu'à 2 200 m d'altitude.

This time of year where I am, checking under Queen Anne's Lace flowers is a great way to find cool bugs. All found in the same clump:

- jagged ambush bug (_Phymata_) with fly prey
- long-jawed orbweaver (_Tetragnatha_)
- swallowtail caterpillar (_Papilio_)
- running crab spider (_Philodromus_), in the same flower!

An elaborately sculptured, almost reptilian-looking green and brown insect with praying mantis-like front legs hides among white Queen Anne's Lace blossoms, clutching an iridescent blue fly it has speared with its rostrum (hidden in this photo, unfortunately).

A little long-jawed orbweaver of some kind, a elongated silvery-gold spider, shelters under a Queen Anne's Lace flower.

A small spiky swallowtail caterpillar, black and orange with a white band across its middle.

A brown and beige running crab spider hides in the same flower, long front legs stretched out. The caterpillar is out of focus in the foreground. (It's far too big for the spider.)

Wenn man erstmals einen #Segelfalter (Iphiclides podalirius) sieht, glaubt man zu träumen. Die sind einfach zu schön, um wahr zu sein.

A Lime Butterfly (Papilio demoleus malayanus) spotted at Punggol Waterfront, Singapore, on 8 July 2018.

The Lime Butterfly is a large butterfly and a swift flier. It lays its eggs on citrus plants (like the lime plant).

This one had just emerged from its pupa and waiting for its wings to fully dry before flying off, making it easy to take a shot it.
