You could not pay me to touch that game with a 10ft pole. What a f*cking nightmare. Even EA isn't that aggressive (yet) with monetization.

When I see that sh*t, I'm even more willing to wait 6 more months for . Take a year if you want, even (although now that you've announced 6 months, maybe it's best you stick to that).
Imagine making life simulation games and making them so cravenly soulless because the President of the country is counting on you for soft power sh*t. Incredible.

This doesn't feel a WildCard-like delay to me, the kind that comes from negligence/incompetence and still delivers a suboptimized product eventually.
Instead, it feels like it's grounded in feedback they got, which they've historically always taken very seriously ; and it's going to lead to even more transparency and feedback, which will never be a bad thing in my book.

I don't doubt that a lot of people will hate this. I haven't dared open reddit yet XD
But I'm fine with it.

Paralives is delayed.

"Hi, Alex here, the lead developer of Paralives,
Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to delay the release. We are truly sorry for the last-minute announcement. After thoughtful consideration, we feel it’s best for the game and the community. This year, we ran many playtests with friends and fans, and we were confident that we could improve the game enough in time for December. In the lead-up to Early Access release, we broadened our playtests with a more varied playerbase, and the latest feedback we received made us realize the game isn’t up to the standard we wanted it to meet for release. Players enjoy the flexibility and the customization of the Paramaker and Build Mode. However, there are still impactful bugs in the Live Mode and a lack of activities to do in the town, which dampened the enjoyment of the players, and we feel it is necessary to work on these before delivering the product to the community.
I started this project wanting it to be a fresh and indie take on the doll-house life simulation genre, which had not been tackled by many game developers. I attribute this partly to the fact that a project like Paralives is a colossal task. Life sims are really 3 games in one: an advanced and flexible build mode, a greatly customizable character creator and a complex life simulation mode. "

[Edit: This will be the early-access release. The full release won't be for another two years, if I'm understanding things right.]

Meanwhile, the gentleman scholar who is Concerned Ape is still lovingly shaping #HauntedChocolatier.

And I understand why it's taking so long, but I still await with bated breath the release of #Miegakure.

Not sure if this qualifies as a #ShareYourGames kind of post since it's a wishlist rather than a look into what I'm actually playing, but they're games I would like to be mine. 😛

I just saw a Youtuber start a video about by doing a countdown.
So naturally they grabbed their phone and asked the AI how many days were left until December 8.

Don't let the door hit you on the way not in 🤷‍♀️

Seriously, what is it with those people thinking that a life simulation game HAS to have paranormal gameplay ? Can't they just, oh I don't know, play a different game when they're in the mood for vampires, and play Paralives for other types of experiences ?!
And if really vampires are the only criteria, why would devs cater to these clearly non-Paralives tastes ?

I finally signed up for the #Paralives Patreon and I linked my discord as well. I love how excited folks are but man people are asking a lot for such a small team of folks. I hope they don't get disappointed. Like I just want them to make good on their planned list of what will be in early access and I'll be golden.

Not to mention, other aspects of body diversity.
Paralives will come with 3 default genders (F, M, and NB, if you look at the bottom right corner of the video I linked above there's also 3 dots, for further customization of gender characteristics), for instance. But I'll let this Youtuber get into the details better than I could :
