As expected, the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra with Pat Thomas gig this afternoon was wonderful. Two longish sets mixing fully improvised playing with pieces of more composed music (still with some free elements). Thomas is a real force of nature, mesmerising to watch and hear and, in combination with the GIO, that force feels unstoppable. I just wish it hadn’t stopped!
