A black shipping container that's been turned into a bike workshop by replacing a chunk of one side with folding glass doors.

A few bikes are visible stood outside it, illuminated pink by the wash of light coming from the vertical stripes of bright pink LED strips arranged along the rest of the container's side.

On the end of the container is a similarly pink illuminated sign reading "bikiosk 🚲

On Friday evening we had a #JoyRide. And this one was a bit special. Fifty or so cyclists following a performer on a trike with a soundsystem through Liverpool on a gorgeous summer's evening.

@otfrom sweet! Cargo bikes rock (luckily I can borrow one from #PelotonLiv, I don't have room for one in my flat).

I'm getting a CGR aluminium gravel bike. The busted pannier rack on my current one tore a hole in the frame recently, which tipped me over to getting a new one. Looking forward to getting hydraulic brakes so I can stop again (miss them from my old MTB)

From last night. The last photo is Danny from #PelotonLiv talking about the mini-roads and bike library projects, which led into me then talking about #FolkRidingBikes.

Which was mostly me enthusing about how riding bikes is FUN! And yes, it helps get cars off the streets, with climate-change, improve mental- and physical-health, and all manner of other good stuff. But all that follows from people realising that cycling is enjoyable.

Our #FolkRidingBikes group grew out of the #JoyRide rides that Peloton run, which started as ride for the blokes at the (also awesome) addiction-recovery centre Damien John Kelly House to have something fun to do on a Friday night instead of think "ah, normally I'd be..."

As @nick says, they're making a difference in all manner of bike-related things in the city

Nipped out to do some shopping t'other day, and my route takes me past the Mini-Roads bike play park in Everton park.

It's half-term, so my mate Danny was running one of #PelotonLiv's learn-to-ride sessions. Loads of kids on all sizes of bikes, from balance bikes upwards.

They also get free lunch, so I got to blag a bowl of rice and veg stew for my lunch!

Beyond the road layout there are some leafy trees and the edge of a block of flats.

The weather was glorious and, as ever, we got escorted through their patch by any local kids on bikes.

(We also got escorted through the tunnel back to #liverpool, but that was by a police car 😀)
