I found this picture I took in the 1980s with a #ToyCamera. It's the #Peoplemover ride track at #Disneyland. I think this was the time I went with my friend Ray, but as I have no shots from the rest of the reel, who knows? #110film

It's a photo of a photo! An old snapshot of the track of the Disneyland People Mover. It's train tracks, with little pneumatic tires down the middle, which propelled the vehicles. We're looking down at the tracks as we exit a show building and enter the Southern California sunlight. The tracks serpentine a little to the left and then more sharply to the right.

Not many people know this, but the Tomorrowland People Mover is THE BEST ride in all of Disney World. By far. Nothing even comes close (other than Rise of the Resistance and Smuggler’s Run). The People Mover RULES.

Das System arbeitet mit dem nicht so gerne gesehenen #translohr zum Lenken. Dazu ergänzend Folge-Toot beachten.

I’ve seen all the arguments for and against the #PeopleMover coming back to #Disneyland and it’s my opinion none of the issues are insurmountable if #Disney wants to do it and puts the money behind it. At this point it’s the executives at #Disney that are the only real roadblock and I’d be shocked if we get an announcement about a new Tomorrowland at #D23. I’m just going to assume they’ll keep kicking that can down the road until I hear otherwise.

(Paywall nach 2.400 Zeichen): Ich hatte letztens ja die Gelegenheit mir am Flughafen Frankfurt das neue People-Mover-System (verwandt mit #Translohr) von Siemens anzuschauen und entsprechend lang mit dem Flughafen zu sprechen. Es gibt also wieder ein spezialisiertes Bahnstück bei uns. 14.000 Zeichen mit vielen Fotos. Und eine Bahn als Titelbild konnte ich mir freilich nicht verkneifen. ;)
