For #SchiffsSamstag here's the superyacht Artefact docked in Philipsburg, St Maarten a couple of weeks ago. She was quite a striking and unusual sight and was the subject of a huge number of photos from everyone disembarking our cruise ship to head ashore.

Artefact is owned by Mike Lazaridis, co-founder of Research in Motion and former co-CEO of BlackBerry.

It's an overcast day with a few patches of blue sky, but it's hot and humid here. We're looking across a stretch of grass, patchy with dry spots in places. In the distance there are some small hills rising but they're mostly obscured by the superyacht that's moored in front with its upper decks visible but most of its hull below the level of the ground we're gazing past. The yacht structure is broadly white in colour but where it has large glass windows they're tinted almost to black, probably for privacy. The effect is almost as if a large block of smoky quartz were broken up by slices of white decking arranged almost organically, slightly offset vertically. A central column seems to show a central atrium on the yacht of four decks with window shapes as if rectangles had been stretched and warped and twisted. A very strange-looking ship.

Auf der #Mahnwache zum 20 Todestag von #SebastienBriat in #lueneburg waren ca. 15 aktive Personen da und unzählige Reisende schauten vorbei. Es wurden verschiedene Reden gehalten.

...in #Bure in Lothringen. #SebastienBriat kam aus der Gegend und kämpfte damals schon vor 20 Jahren gegen das geplante Atommülllager in tiefen geologischen schichten. Kampf dauert heute nochvan, Staat versucht Vorhaben mit Gewalt, Repression gegen Gegner*innen durchzusetzen.
