This is a black and white photo in landscape format of a large cruise ship anchored in Geirangerfjord, Norway (2015). In the foreground, running diagonally from the top left corner downwards towards the lower right corner is a large tree with sparsely spaced branches and leaves allowing the viewer to see beyond. From the lower right corner and rising upwards to around the halfway point are the still and dark waters of a deep Norwegian fjord. Anchored in this fjord is a large crusie ship, the starboard (right) side viewed in profile, with her bow nearly touching the right edge of the image and the rear section out of view beyond the left margin of the photo. The ship has a black hull with the superstructure above being white. On the lower white part is the ships name in bold black lettering near the bow: 'QUEEN ELIZEBETH' and the shippping line's name about thirty metres aft: 'CUNARD'. Seven main deck are in view above the black hull, all with balconies. There are two smaller covered decks above the bridge area, only stretching aft a short distance, say thirty metres. Above is an array of radar and radio antennas. Beyond our ship is the steep sided wall of the fjord, with some bare rocks showing, but mostly covered in a dense and dark mass of trees. The 295 metre long Queen Elizebeth and two other large cruise ship were all moored at the head of the Geirangerfjord, a practice I understand will end in 2026 when Geiranger becomes Zero Emission.

Globular clusters like this one, called ESO 591-12 or Palomar 8, are spherical collections of tens of thousands to millions of stars tightly bound together by gravity.
