The forest waits in silence,
until the sun finally arrives.

Enjoy the weekend !

The first light arrives late in the deep alpine valley in winter. It highlights the ridges first with a poetic contrast.

Autumn means shorter days.
That last light in the mountains always comes at a low angle, changing the landscape dramatically.

Low angle light is making an alpine ridge bright with some larches shining.

It’s raining. The sun casts a final beam, fighting its battle before the day ends, while the valley has already surrendered to the dark.

A last beam of light is highlighting the woods and trees of a alpine valley already in the dark.

Seasonal transition. Autumn is fully here: golden larches glowing, thirsty glaciers waiting. Time holds its breath. Do I want to keep these colors, or am I ready for a thick white cap?

Golden larches are standing in front of the Trient Glacier in autumn.

A preserved steam-powered crane locomotive labelled "HODBARROW No. 6" stands on railway tracks in a rural setting, photographed in the late 1970s. Painted deep green with red and black accents, the locomotive features a compact cab, large spoked wheels, and a rotating steam derrick arm with a lifting hook. The design reflects late 19th-century industrial engineering, used for heavy lifting in rail maintenance or quarry operations. The image captures the locomotive in restored condition, evoking heritage preservation efforts of the era

White cylindrical windmill with a black conical roof and four large black sails, standing in tall grass under a clear blue sky. A smaller tail vane helps orient the structure into the wind. This iconic landmark of Lytham St Anne’s evokes the town’s maritime and agricultural heritage, blending traditional engineering with the natural coastal landscape.
