Hi @nerdherz,
Now that I've also looked at #DxO #Photolab 9, I'll probably use that in future, and for everything else I still have my #Affinity licence, which I got in a Black Friday deal or something, and #Pixelmator wasn't that expensive either.
I've definitely uninstalled the #Adobe stuff, and the subscription expires in 68 days.
Best mass photo editing package on either Mac or PC (by which I specifically mean Windows)? If other, pls post details in a comment.

It's been a long, long time since I last looked at #Lightroom. Fell in love years ago with #DXO #Photolab and dropped a few dimes on it back then. Couple days ago I re-checked out Lightroom Classic on both #Mac and #PC. As predicted, the 3080 on the PC absolutely destroys my #M2Max w/30 GPU cores in denoise but man the app is flaky! History doesn't show an action performed despite the switches reflecting it when viewing the image. Coupla other quirks.
The main reason for looking at my New Zealand RAW files again with the new #DxO #Photolab 9 was to see if the Fairy Penguins, taken late evening, would be better than 7 years ago. #Birds 🪶 #Photography #FujiFilm
Think I'll be trying #DxO #PhotoLab sometime soon. My #CaptureOne 22 is aging and stuff seems to be breaking down. For example, when importing I want to exclude video files, but the filter options don't even work anymore :blobcatdunno:. Very weird.
Anyway, DxO communicates an Essential and an Elite version of Photolab and at https://www.dxo.com/dxo-photolab/whats-new/#version=19-essential they even have a comparison. At https://support.dxo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4423295439761-What-is-the-difference-between-DxO-PureRAW-and-DxO-PhotoLab-and-what-do-they-have-in-common they mention Essential as well.
Yet, when buying you can't choose between them? Confusing.
My wife stumbled across her dad's old Instamatic camera, and discovered it still had film in it, which we worked out has been in the camera since at least 1983. Found a local place that still develops 126 Kodacolor cartridges (Picture Perfect Photo Lab, Albuquerque), and not expecting much, took it in.
To my eye, the negatives are just a weird green with a few barely-visible streaks. But after digitizing and doing some heavy processing in Darktable and Gimp, I was able to get a identifiable image out of every frame.
Can't complain given the film was exposed over 40 years ago and has been sitting in the hot garage and who knows what other environments since then.
