The image is a hand-drawn circular diagram titled "Encoded 2D-Spacetime Manifold," featuring a grid of interconnected geometric shapes within the circle, surrounded by handwritten text. The left side contains text: "Correlations arise from global phase consistency of the field, not local exchange of information," "Propagator Equations: W(x,y) = ∫ K(x,x') K(x',y) dx'," and "Schrödinger Equation: iħ ∂ψ/∂t = (-ħ²/2m ∇² + V)ψ". The right side includes "Non-factorization Entanglement: ψ(x,y) ≠ ψ(x)ψ(y)", "Spin Slight State: ψ = ψ(|↑↓|) - ψ(|↓↑|)", "Phase/Momentum/Time: Δφ = ψ̅ ψ, dψ", "Expectation Value/Measurement: <φ> = ∫ φ* ψ dV", and "the Doctor - Hypatia Fynn Lovelace" at the bottom right. The circular diagram is marked with "0.1" at the top and bottom, and "-1.0", "1.0" at the left and right.

If you asked me, before now, what I admire the most, I would have said .. specifically .. more specifically .. and .. especially underpaid, overworked, & passionate .
I still admire them.
But now, the profession I admire the most is .. specifically Teachers.. more specifically .. .

This quote is attributed to Albert Einstein:

"If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself."

Found this on a Bluesky post (Thanks Justin).
"#Uruguay did what most nations still call impossible: it built a power grid that runs almost entirely on #renewables—at half the cost of #fossil #fuels. The #physicist who led that #transformation says the same #playbook could work anywhere—if #governments have the #courage to change the rules."

A detailed black-and-white geometric drawing on white paper, featuring a large circle with an inscribed square. The square is filled with a repeating pattern of interlocking squares and lines, forming a dense, symmetrical grid. Text labels: "0,1" at the top, "1.0" on the right edge, "-1.0" on the left edge, "0,-1" at the bottom center. At the bottom right, handwritten text reads "The Doctor - Hypatia Fynn Lovelace"

It basically comes down to:

1. Choose a concept to study
2. Explain it to someone unfamiliar with the topic
3. Assess and improve your understanding
4. Review and repeat

NOTE: This image just is one of many variants of the steps.

Bonus #ArtAdventCalendar day 17 - Happy birthday to Gabrielle Émilie Le Tonnelier de Breteuil, Marquise du Châtelet (1706-1749), a natural philosopher, #mathematician and #physicist, shown here in my #linocut portrait with #diagrams from her ‘Principes Mathématiques de la Philosophie Naturelle’, a two-volume translation and commentary of Newton’s ‘Principia’, published in 1759 in French in Paris.⠀

Day 16 #artAdventCalendar the woman who figured out why lead is particularly stable & 2nd woman to win the Nobel Prize for #physics: German-American theoretical #physicist Maria Goeppert Mayer (1906-1972). As the series of increasingly large atomic nuclei grows with additional nucleons (protons p & neutrons n) from hydrogen to transuranic elements, there are points where the binding energy of the next nucleon is a lot lower than the last. 🧵

My linocut portrait of Maria Goeppert Mayer on 11” x 14” white Japanese paper shows the nuclear shell model energy states in lime green up the left side. Next to this are the magic numbers rising vertically (sums of available energy states): 2, 8, 20, 28, 50, 82, 126 and associated elements for nuclei with those numbers of protons: He, O, Ca, Ni, Sn, Pb with the final hypothetical element unlabelled, all in dark blue. A 3/4 portrait from the chest up in dark blue is all the right side. Mayer has short hair, and wears a dark blouse with long thin white scarf draped around her neck, untied. Below the magic numbers are increasingly large representations of nuclei with increasing numbers of gold and white nucleons like clumps of balls.

The image features a textured, primarily purple visual. A dark purple, roughly diamond-shaped area dominates the scene, with a speckled texture throughout. Rising from the center of this area is a cone-shaped form that transitions from a darker purple at the base to a bright orange at the apex. A circular pattern is visible near the center of the diamond shape, appearing to radiate outwards from where the cone originates. The overall effect is abstract and somewhat reminiscent of a shadow cast by a light source onto a textured surfaceThe image is a digitally created, symmetrical, abstract pattern resembling a flower or a mandala. It features concentric layers of rounded, petal-like shapes in shades of orange and deep blue. At the center is a small, dense cluster of orange and blue squares arranged in a grid. Surrounding this core are larger, similarly colored rounded shapes that radiate outwards, with the overall effect creating a sense of depth and flow. The outer edge consists of a pixelated, textured border composed of small orange and blue squares. The entire image is comprised of many small squares, giving it a distinctly digital and somewhat retro aesthetic. The image is a circular pattern dominated by shades of blue and purple, with hints of orange at the edges. A bright, vertical line runs through the center of the circle, bisecting it into two equal halves. Faint, concentric rings radiate outward from the center, becoming more diffuse towards the edges. Two horizontal lines, similar in brightness to the vertical line, cross the center perpendicularly. The overall texture appears grainy, like static or a close-up of fabricThe image is an abstract, symmetrical design featuring shades of orange and dark purple. A central, dark purple, teardrop-shaped void is surrounded by a large, rounded, orange shape that takes up most of the frame. Surrounding this are multiple, smaller rounded orange shapes of varying sizes, reminiscent of cells or bubbles, all in shades of orange. The orange areas have subtle variations in tone, creating a sense of depth and texture. The background is dark purple, providing contrast to the orange shapes and highlighting their form
