#PiStar should have a wide screen mode for the dashboard, so that it takes advantage of today's displays. I'm sure there is a theme or css hack or something, but I can't be arsed looking.

My Pi-Star hotspot has a read-only filesystem by default. It runs Tailscale, which really wants a read/write filesystem.

Fixed by spending a minute every 100 days manually logging in to the hotspot and setting the filesystem as read/write and then starting Tailscale.

Maybe fixable: #systemd unit to set filesystem as read/write before it launches Tailscale? Unlikely to take less than a minute every 100 days to debug this.

I normally run a duplex hotspot on a Pi Zero W - today that didn't seem to want to work on the fly, so I went drawer scavanging and found an old Raspberry Pi B+ (yup, no version number - it's the 2014 version). It works, amazingly, but MAN is the web dashboard slow. #AmateurRadio #DMR #pistar

#Ham update: Learnt more about and experimented with Pi-Star and am now #QRV on #DMR+, #YSF, and #XLX reflectors. I'd say that's good progress after just a couple of weeks.

Привет, Хабр! Это Виктор Сергеев, автор команды спецпроектов МТС Диджитал. В детстве я очень любил фантастику и обожал представлять себя в кабине космического корабля с кучей экранов, светящихся индикаторов и переключателей. Рабочее место современного радиолюбителя очень похоже на такой корабль, чему мы обязаны развитию недорогих одноплатников. Они же позволяют создавать портативные, но функциональные устройства, вроде хотспотов MMDVM (Multi-Mode Digital Voice Modem). MMDVM представляет собой самую обычную «‎малинку» Raspberry Pi Zero W с дополнительной платой (HS shield), на которой реализован радиотракт. В рабочем режиме нагрузка на процессор не слишком велика, а большую часть времени он вообще находится в простое. Именно это обстоятельство позволяет добавить внутрь очень востребованный у радиолюбителей инструмент — HamClock . О нем и расскажу.

I run a DMR hotspot using a duplex MMDVM board on a Raspberry Pi 3B running Pi-Star. A couple of power outages eventually corrupted the superblock on the SD card. I could get it to boot if I hooked up a keyboard and monitor to force it through the boot but today I caved and formatted and re-imaged it. Now I’m running 4.2.1 instead of 4.1.8 and it’s back to normal operation. Should have done it sooner. #hamradio #dmr #pistar

@HopelessDemigod No luck, either the pager is bad, or just will not work with #pistar I spent most of the afternoon trying to get it working, and trying to get my old #Dapnet #pager working, no luck.... but also in the box I found a couple of other pagers that do appear to work. Problem with them they are right on the edge of the band.

Any DMR hams share their Pi-Star configs anywhere? My SD card died and I didn't have my config backed up so I'm looking for some inspiration for creative setups!

I don't like to use Brandmeister because they keep banning all my queer friends, so setups that include FreeDMR and other smaller networks are a huge plus.
