🎉 Filmbook is now available on Flathub! 📷

Your film tracking app just got easier to install! You can now get Filmbook directly from Flathub:
https://flathub.org/apps/page.codeberg.bjawebos.Filmbook

Built with Rust & GTK4/libadwaita, Filmbook helps analog photographers keep track of their film usage with a smooth, modern interface that works great on desktop Linux and even Linux phones like the Librem 5 and Pinephone Pro!

Calling all analog photographers: I need your creative input! What features are you missing? What would make your film photography workflow even smoother? Your ideas will help shape the future of Filmbook.

I installed #Mepo¹ on my #Mobian #PinePhone (≠ pro). Unfortunately, it is not yet in #Debian², as #zig³ is still not in. So I had to use #flatpak, which is cumbersome. Anyway, I like it! Much better than #OrganicMaps⁴, IMHO.

Alright, it's time to finally start using this account.

For those that are unaware, we moved from Fosstodon to TH.S on April 26, 2025 and we haven't posted anything on this account since then.. until now.

A quick introduction, we're the maintainer of an Arch-based distribution for #PinePhone, #PinePhonePro and #PineTab2 and our latest release (at the time of this toot) was in December last year (it's been that long, huh)

This account will be used to post updates and news about that distribution.

Thanks treehouse.systems team for letting us in. 😎

How many degoogled out of the box phones are there right now? There's #fairphone, there's #murena, #pinephone, what else?

Bon RIP mon #Pinephone à son 4ème anniversaire.

J'essayerai de le sauver en petit serveur maison, car en USB il survit je crois, sur batterie (pas morte) il s'éteint tout seul random.

Hop, reçu mon HMD 2660 Flip, bienvenu en l'an 1999 !

Calling all analog film photographers! 🎞️ I've been working on Filmbook, an open-source app to help you keep track of your film usage. It's built with Rust & GTK4/libadwaita for a smooth & modern experience – and it even runs on Linux phones like the Librem 5 and Pinephone Pro! 📱

The first version is ready for testing, and I'd love your input on what features would make it even better! Join the community & help shape Filmbook:

@kkeijzer @Liberux if I remember right most of the and modem issues after getting it initially working was issues with the interface connection not working correctly when sleeping so the modem would not come back or would drop out when idling. Hopefully someone else can comment with more information.

Besides #PinePhone and #Librem5, are there any other smartphones with @mobian or @postmarketOS that fully implement Calls, WiFi, Mobile Data, Audio, GPS, Battery?

2025-06-04

@phosh

* phosh 0.45 on a #pinephone running #PostmarketOS 24.12 (daily driver)
* phosh 0.47 on a Pinetab 2 (ARM) running @danctnix Arch build

Been reading all release blog posts and love every new release! Keep up the great work!

@phosh

Mostly using #Phosh on a #LibreM5 running #Mobian #trixie lately but also a #PinePhone running #Mobian #bookworm (with a trixie era kernel).

About 95% or more using the #Dino #XMPP client.

Mostly with WiFi but occasionally cellular data. Never with cellular voice calls or text.

Had tried Chats ages ago but the #OMEMO support was unreliable and there was no offline support at all. Lack off offline support was a total deal breaker for me.

Love phosh a lot, many thanks!

@privacy_guru I have the #pinephone sitting ony my desk and pick it up every once in a while to see if there is anything new. I also got the keyboard case back then because it would have been amazing to have something to tinker on the way. But so far it seems that our experiences seem rather similar, it's not there yet to be used productively on a daily basis. That really is a shame...

is there any distro that runs fine on the #pinephone (not pro) in 2025 or it just became more e-waste?

@davidoclubb hi David, thanks a lot for your great Tech for Good talk on Thursday! I bought a #pinephone a few years back and have tried it on and off over the years but each time I couldn’t quite get it to stick.

Despite your best efforts(!) you’ve inspired me to try again, so I’m going to get hold of an old OnePlus and give pmOS another go. Aside from banking apps, do you generally find it to be (a little) more reliable and daily-driverable these days?
