I won't describe the state of the livingroom.

Suffice it to say that today was *Benson is Trapped Inside Because of Zoom and Rain Day*.

After our 3 pm walk in the rain (see: Zooms), he was all het up. So I finished my last two Zooms of the day and we played.

Watching Benson chase his squeaky sunflower and then get tuckered out was what I needed. Like all big guys, his bursts of speed are alarming, awkward, and quickly extinguished.

His extra large ottoman arrived and it's downstairs waiting for me to drag it inside.

Kinda bummed that we have to postpone our meeting, greet, and (hopefully) bring home the potentially new doggo. The foster wasn't able to schedule a vet visit for what seems to be allergies until Saturday morning, and we all agree the added stress wouldn't do her any good. Here's hoping for the next weekend, if she's feeling better...

We really really want this doggo... Similar age, similar/same breed, based on what we've read, same temperament. And being older, less likely to be adopted, but perfect for us. Imagine the epic cool weather 6+ mile walks I could take with *two* doggos! Plus Stevie really needs a companion, given the way she gravitates to areas where she's met other dogs... She's doing better, but not back to where she was before Charlie passed.

So... We had our adoption application approved, got a response from the adoption coordinator that they were reaching out to the foster... Just waiting to hear about a meet & greet so that Stevie can meet her potential new sister, assuming someone, during a major downpour, doesn't decide to adopt a 2 year-old pitbull amidst many puppies at an adoption event on Saturday... If they gel, she'd be perfect for our family...

There's a small, but not insignificant, chance that the slightly older doggo we put in an application for from the rescue we got Stevie from will be at an adoption event at our local PetSmart this Saturday. A friend from training has been urging my wife to contact a specific person at the rescue to push through our app. Planning to go to the event to help fast track the app and maybe come home with Stevie's prospective sibling, another pittie.
