Many tourists are horrified by it, eating a raw herring and then in that way. But we think it is a delicacy, especially at the beginning of the season when the first "Hollandse Nieuwe" is there again. This is then celebrated in the Scheveningen harbour with Flag Day. The first barrel is sold by auction for a good cause.
