So I decided to try a #KDE #Plasma desktop again. And you know what? I might actually stick it out for a while this is really nice. I still prefer a lot of the Gnome apps over the KDE ones (Files>Dolphin, both Geary and Evolution>Kmail, and while Kate>Text Editor, I don't need all of Kate's features for a simple text editor), but the desktop is super pretty and the workflow (after a couple tweaks) is super nice.

I only have one problem. Where should I put my panel? Top, Left side, or right side?

(Don't say bottom. A bottom panel is for Windows people.)

For desktop use: a machine with 8 GB should be fine 👍

Screenshots here show a 1 GB machine running KDE Plasma with LibreOffice, vscode (Code - OSS), Firefox with YouTube and four other windows, htop in Konsole, and YouTube playing very smoothly in Konqueror.

After quitting everything except Konsole: less than 700 M real memory was used, some of which was ZFS ARC – a good thing.

This is not to recommend a machine with so little memory for things such as LibreOffice. It's to help demonstrate that things such as KDE Plasma and FreeBSD are not the memory hogs that people might imagine.

I don't know *why* this works, but I'll share what I experienced that works my problem of not switching between 2 devices on my #sony #WH1000XM4 #headphones

For switching from laptop to phone, of course, pause anything playing on your #Linux machine *and* switch to any available #Bluetooth codec (like from #SBC to #AAC and vice versa). Then play the media on your phone.

Gonna start off that I use #EndeavourOS with #KDE #Plasma 6.5.3 under #Wayland session.
