The Santa Rosa plum air layering has made roots! It's been 11 weeks since it was started. It should make a standard sized tree if it survives. I put it in a pot for now so I can be kept wet and out of the hot sun if necessary and figure out where I want to plant it.

The wrapped plum branch. It is clear cling type wrap around moss and dirt and stuff with the top and bottom ends sealed with black splicing tape. Roots are visible through the plastic.

The root ball after it was cut from the tree and all the plastic wrap and tape removed. The roots are white and some of the moss is visible. It is sitting on top of the gallon bag pot it will be planted in. There are wood handled loppers in the background.
