Mornings gift us a fragile peaceβsoft light, bird songs, silence. But the day rushes in, and the night whispers unknown languages. π β¨ #PoeticBipolarMind #MorningPeace #PoetryOfTheDay #FleetingMoments #SunrisePoetry #NatureInspired #StillnessAndSilence #WritersOfInstagram #PoetryCommunity #Literary
elephant staring
warm, tender caring
with her, stay gentle
not just a rental:
you've got her for life
thick through the strife
such joy, to strive
feel truly alive
stared into abyss
now saved by a kiss
stand on my shoulders
we'll fall together
heavy as boulders
I don't know whether
we'll make it in time.
clean off the grime
drink in the daylight
losing your eyesight
through toxic delights
keep on wandering,
aight?
with a map, lost
through hell's gate, tossed
cook us real nice
seasoned with vice
from fighting, tenderized
next morning, eulogized
drink in the numbing
hear her sweet strumming
Earth'll keep ticking
Dog bless your heart
knew from the start
we'd take a licking
built to spill, she
spilt us real good
so misunderstood
we're in for a thrill:
here comes the bill
bittersweet smiles
over these miles
we don't need βem
gems, now hidden
adjust to the rhythm
dress to the nines
show them some leg
brought down a peg
your face still shines
the past rewinds
red, yellow, black,
we fade together
above the weather
let's fly, Jack
them bones don't break
old though they are
give them a shake
let them eat cake
laugh away the scar
invisible from afar
powerful parasite
sets life alight
and death adark
lovely little lark
yeah, you got that right
the world changed
and again this morning
thankfully estranged
gave us no warning
what calls to you?
we've heard that voice
when hearts are true
ain't got no choice
ain't got no teeth
least none worth baring
sword in its sheath
silently swearing
shed no more tears
swing your oar
heavy on the gas
race down the shore
defeat your fears
timid no more
bask
in the morass
take fate to task
flee from the past
come settle the score
our overseas racket
once shared every meal
black leather jacket
Jesus take the wheel
blatant hypocrisies
swept under the rug
we dine with the fleas
eat dirt with a shrug
what will we nurture?
this day's just begun
sweet darling vulture
we circle the sun
we keep on the run
ahead of Death's sickle
breath slowed to a trickle
respiring for fun
why not the weeds?
they've also got needs
not pretty
small pity
our city, to shun
black and white
fly a kite
living the dream
so it seems:
ain't got that Right.
crazy for thirst
feared the worst
so little trouble
bursting my bubble
open the hymnal
pull out the whiskey
bang on that cymbal
dancing is risky
the devil's crying
she's why oh whying
say I walk straight?
well then I'd be lying
Who's entertained?
them Who's pained
make a good story
now zany, now gory
muscles, untrained
they want you weak
don't you dare speak
but now, a leak
the truth will out
the practice, devout
took a decent death
saw that light, swirling
head and heart twirling
from that third breath
saw your true friends
yes, they are there
a life without ends
without worry or care
this life full of trials
you know it's for fun
such pain, many miles
til we become one
where did they go?
those birds of the night
they sing and they sing
aflight at first light
their songs often sweet
they need every feather
they suffer defeat
adjust to the weather
their songs spell your doom
reflections of mystery
can't make enough room
so sleep through the ecstasy
bless the bees
these hornets too
so generous with gifts
their hearts not adrift
can mend any rift
well, that's what death's for
stinging, stagnant honey
least he's got money
Who's got the high score?
Who'd ever want more?
can't find nothing funny
raging, wild, sunny
curse the bees
those hornets too
how high can we climb?
as far as can fall
seeking a rhyme
poems can be dull.
consciousness, awareness,
values, goals, war
some seek stillness,
let's bang on their door
