"‘A 'cosmic meteorite' which was reported on Portmarnock beach has turned out to be a hole dug by a small group of men during the sunny spell over the weekend.

A 'mysterious hole on the beach causing a stir in Dublin' was mistaken for a meteorite crater.

Virgin Media News reported on the 'out of this world' hole yesterday."
