This is so interesting to me. It does indeed seem to be surprisingly relevant. I have seen references to #Hermeticism here and there, but knew nothing about it. No one ever mentions Hermes Trismegistus and I never learned anything about #philosophy or #religion in the #Ptolemaic kingdom. "Cleopatra was Greek" was treated as trivia. These ideas have been almost totally underground and maybe they shouldn't be.

This image demonstrates a profound lack of historical understanding of Ancient Egypt and the Ptolemaic period.

Even Hypatia would have face-palmed.
