Successful lunch break PLOTA activation (Parking Lots on the Air) on 10 meter FT8! Tho I did have to take an extra half hour to reach ten QSOs 😉.

First outing with the QMX+ and a cable I made with an in-line buck converter to use a regular 13.8V battery.

Session included one QSO in Ontario, a new grid in Argentina, and two new states (CT, ME). From Raleigh with 4 watts and a whip!

In order to reduce the weight of kit I carry for portable operations, I have treated my FT-817 to a Windcamp battery.
I look forward to lighter weight when operating #QRP over the coming months.

Just playing with QRP labs radios today. Vertical MC-750, 3-4W and 20m got a good reach even the sun is throwing tantrums.

First time listened the QMX SSB and it sounds really nice!

I just had a QSO with VE3NTT with a new mic I built from a kit from @g7ufo designed by K6ARK with a kit built @qrplabs #QMX Midband and a #EFHW. Amazing stuff. #QRP

I'm going boat camping on a MacGregor 26D. Want to try the #x6200 for #POTA . But I have bad luck getting anyone to come back to me @QRP levels. I can build an inverted delta loop (was thinking of trying that anyway) and hoist the bottom peak up the mast, or go with a inverted V dipole (or both). I can't bring the FT857D & tuner, so I'll be #QRP #hamRadio

So any ideas??

It was a little windy on top of Leckhampton Hill for last night's #2m #FMAC, organised by the #RSGB. It was my first contest using a recently bought FT-817(non-ND). The radio worked fine, but the Temu bag was heavy due to the LiFePO4 8Ah battery. It's a little over 1 mile walk to/from the top of the hill from the carpark, so a little less weight would be appreciated.

Mic in purple so I can get appropriately funky in QRP SSB. Now I have to get serious about updating the QMX+ firmware to add SSB functionality.
