Habe gerade mal ne Runde #Quake3Arena auf meinem Laptop gezockt, weil Ende August ein Turnier unter Bekannten stattfinden soll. 😄
Erstaunlich, dass das tatsächlich mit meiner Onboard GK funktioniert, hätte ich nicht gedacht..

Aber Alter! Ich muss echt noch viel üben! Ich treffe ja nix mehr und die Steuerung ist mir nicht mehr so in Fleisch und Blut, wie früher. Nicht mal ansatzweise.. 😆

Aber macht immer noch Spaß! 😊

with something like #sm64decomp or #zelda64decomp requiring the OG ROM to be compiled, I wonder if it would be possible to do something in the spirit of the #openarena / #quake3arena situation, aka a free non-copyrght asset pack so that the game can be played without the original ROM but rather with some community made replacement files, but again I don't really know how any of this works so it might be completely different

I have a bug with my Quake 3 installs, like, ALL OF THEM.
Doesn't matter the sourceport, doesn't matter the operating system, doesn't matter if it's OpenArena or Q3A.
In both my PCs, my keyboard isn't the US standard layout, it's the local regional layout, so it doesn't have the tilde key next to 1 on the top row, that button is actually '

My tilde is between L and Enter on the right side of the keyboard, and if I try rebinding it to '
it has an issue where it refuses to close the terminal after that, randomly.
If I press tilde it still works but after that, ANY KEY that I press opens up chat and console again... the only thing in common between all of these installs is the keyboard layout so I just think the game isn't prepared to deal with that.

This weekend I made what felt like a thousand updates to https://www.classicmacdemos.com/ to improve compatibility, SEO, speed, security, and consistency, and other stuff that folks probably won't even notice, but that I'll sleep better at night for having done.

I'm super grateful to that-ben from Macintosh Repository and @mihaip for their tremendous collaboration and guidance. It's pretty amazing to start a little hobby project and then find yourself working with #retrocomputing rock stars.

I just added demos for #Quake3Arena and #StarWars Episode 1: Racer, bringing the collection to 72 game demos. HTTP-only mode for classic mac web browsers is halfway decent. Fire up iCab and give it a visit for some bite-sized #retrogaming fun.
