The project also features:

Behind three grotesque stone pillars, a backdrop of a lavafall illuminates the cave in a soft orange light. In the foreground are two ramps of cooled lava flows mixing into a small clearing with a blue hammer flag in its centre.

A tech base-looking room is split into two tiers, the upper tier holding a holographic blue hammer flag on a small pedestal in front of a relief of a blue hammer on the back wall. Several metallic support pillars rim the open space in front of the flag that drops down to a lower floor with walkways and Martian dirt.

A blue hammer flag waves in the foreground in an open arena with two polyhedral columns rising up to either side of the arena. The sky is open overhead, and the dusty tan-pink of the planet Stroggos can be seen between those two columns.

In a room with a massive lava pool at its centre, a blue hammer flag is set off on a platform overlooking the pool. The room is split into two tiers with a bridge on the second tier spanning over the lava pool. A battle takes place in the distance, bloody gibs spewing in an open hallway.

This developer @BlueKeyGames did an incredible job modifying #Quake1 for #QuakeChampions.
And it looks like there are maps with monsters on the #QC maps.

One of my fav things about shooters is how some maps transcend time and gamespace. It doesn't matter the origins or destinations; someone is going to try and port de_dust to it like some kind of biological imperative.

The same Dark Zone map in the same octagonal room, but in its original Quake 1 form. Colours are more muted and brown, and the portal at the centre no longer glows blue, but instead holds an oscillating, oily substance. A player on the far side of the room lets loose a rocket, which streaks towards and impacts full in the chest another player, throwing them back dramatically in a spray of light and glowing orange particles.

Miniony sezon Quake Pro League był ostatnim - nie będzie kolejnej edycji. Niekoniecznie oznacza to koniec e-sportu #QuakeChampions, ale nie da się ukryć, że raczej nie zmierza to w dobrym kierunku.

Szkoda, bo Quake, poza byciem legendą i klasykiem w świecie gier i e-sportu, jest po prostu diabelnie dynamiczny i widowiskowy. Ale możliwe, że jest też trudny w efektywnej grze, przez co nie przyciągał graczy i widzów. Nie wiem, nie znam się. Mimo że nie śledziłem specjalnie sceny, to mistrzostwa na Quakeconie lubiłem sobie obejrzeć.
