#Quaker people? Today at meeting someone read something, a little story that others sounded familiar with. It went something like:
Someone dancing in the street, came into meeting, saying "I am just taking a rest, I can't bring anything except my need" and the response was "come with that then"..
Does anyone recognise this? Is it a qf&p entry? I searched but I can't recall the dancer's name.
@BlumeEvolution Ich korrigiere bzw. konkretisiere mich: Es war 1742 auf einer ökumenischen Konferenz in Germantown, wo zum ersten mal in der Geschichte, eine Frau (Quäkerin) in Anwesenheit von männlichen lutherischen und reformierten Ordinierten predigte. Vermutlich in Anwesenheit von Nikolaus Ludwig Graf von Zinzendorf.

@BlumeEvolution Zum Bild. Sorry, aber das ist Quatsch. Schon before es die USA überhaupt gab, gab es in #Pennsylvania unter #Quäker volle Gleichberechtigung. Da predigten Frauen und wahren Ältistin. Die erste Frau, die übrigens in Deutschland in einer Kirche predigte, war in der zweiten Hälfte im 17. Jahrhundert, eine Quäker-Predigerin auf der Durchreise von England.
