The weekend is just around the corner, and what a better way to kick things off than enjoying a long walk along Meloneras' coastline at sunset watching yellow and green colours blending nicely with the blue shades from the skies and the ocean. Lots of people think the best views from this part of the island in which you can check out Roque Nublo are right at the base of the monolithic structure. And they are not wrong, they are both equally majestic and sublime. However, my favourite spot to watch over Roque Nublo and the stunning landscape is from the nearby Presa de los Hornos that allows you to capture, in a much quieter and tranquil space, this kind of mind-blowing snap shot: Roque Nublo surrounded by forests of pine trees, high up in the mountains, and you can also see the accompanying "The Frog" (La Rana) and "The Monk" (El Monje) nearby. This photo was taken on a winter day with some thin clouds scattered around the sky and with a balmy 20C. Just plain gorgeous! 😍👍🏻

This is perhaps one of the most spectacular hiking routes I've done so far in the island. On the way up to Roque Nublo, through Ayacata, in the midst of the mountains and pine tree forests, you can see a road on the right side with a car driving through. All in all, showing rather tiny, so you can see how high up that trekking route is. The landscape, with no ocean to be seen, is just spectacular. Majestic, even. One can feel so tiny some times with such overwhelming powerful landscapes 😍👍🏻

We *are* living in extraordinary times, indeed, and to celebrate those, here's a snap shot of one of my all time favourite hiking spots in Gran Canaria. The tallest mountain in the island: Pico de las Nieves (or Pozo de las Nieves), nearly 2,000 meters high, with a majestic, almost sublime, scene: blue skies with the odd faint clouds, forests of pine trees scattered all over the place with their exuberant lush of green, before seeing the landmarks of Roque Nublo (left-side), Roque Bentayga (right-side) and in the far back the stunning Mount Teide, in Tenerife. Simply, perfection... over millions of years, of course. Just superb! 😍👍🏻

Couldn't help myself starting off the week with this beauty straight of the terrace parterre from a couple of months ago that my mobile phone recommended as featured photo of the day. Yeah, I know, I, too, can see why: a delicate pink rose with almost a perfect shape, no filters or "touches" applied. As delicate and as beautiful as it showed up 🌹👍🏻😍

This is one of my favourite hiking spots in the island: Barranco de Gauayadeque. Spectacular scene with high mountains, an exuberant green lush all around, trees all over the place, even making their way in between the rocks and with a road to get there appearing much much smaller than what it is right at the bottom of the gorge. Breathtaking to no end and physically not too intense. A gorgeous place to heal both the body and the soul away from the madness 😍👍🏻

One of my favourite morning walks ... Strolling along the golden sand dunes of Maspalomas, on a glorious clear blue sky spring day, with no-one else around, just yourself, your thoughts, the amazing and intense light, and the endless gorgeous view of nothing but golden sand dunes all around with a solitary palm tree in the horizon. Early morning commute, watching the gorgeous landscape of Maspalomas Golf Course from Playa del Ingles with an stunning green lush all around. A bunch of houses in the far distance and in the horizon the glorious Maspalomas Dunes. And, of course, at the front of the snap shot the eternal spring is showing with blooming purple colours. More hiking! Here's another one of the landmarks from the island. Right in the centre of the snap shot, the majestic and sublime Roque Nublo. An 80 meters tall monolith watching over the entire landscape of pine trees and mountains that allow you to see all the way to Maspalomas Dunes on a clear blue sky day. Imperial views all around. Right next to it, you can also see what's known as The Frog (a smaller rock) and The Monk (in a prayer position) nearby. I took this snap shot from a reservoir dam not too far from Roque Nublo: Presa de los Hornos. This is one of my favourite landmark views from the island. As peaceful and quiet as it can get. Just plain gorgeous! 😍👍🏻

More hiking! This time around, although still in the midst of green lush of winter, through one of my favourite landmarks in the island: Roque Bentayga. Standing tall, watching over the entire valley, surrounded by other mountains, it's majestic shape dominates the landscape entirely. Best part is that in the horizon there is something much taller, much more sublime and majestic watching over the entire archipelago: Mount Teide, in Tenerife. The clouds and the blue skies, allowing to marvel at the stunning views give it all a mystical flair hard to repeat anywhere else. Well, there is one other place, but perhaps will share more about it later!

While yesterday's snap shot was a scene of the full moon at Maspalomas Dunes from Saturday evening, here is Part Deux: from Sunday evening. In the horizon, the radiant full moon contrasting with the dark, placid ocean, a boat? on the left with a glistening light, clear skies and the golden sand dunes illuminated with the moonlight reeling in the ocean. Somewhere in there there is also my own shadow, but I think I manage to hide it pretty well. Gosh, I can never tire of such stunning landscape, I tell ya! 😍👍🏻

Gran Canaria, Maspalomas Dunes. Over the weekend, while minding my own business with my daily walk routines along the sand dunes, I had the privilege of marvelling at the spectacle of the spring full moon covered with the odd cloud at sunset over the golden sand, with the placid ocean in the horizon and the magical light of the moon reeling in the water. At the front, the traces of the recent heavy rainfall , dramatically splitting the sand, venturing into an inexistent pathway to paradise. I stopped. Everyone stopped. The world stopped. For a moment, there was nothing other than just pure bliss at marvelling at such glorious scene. Unforgettable 🥰👍🏻

A small town with lots of charm: Agüimes, Gran Canaria. A winter day with blue skies all around, the town square with three large trees presiding it, and with the main church at the back. A continued bench to sit around the trees, plants and flowers, allowing you to flâneur into the late afternoon. Delightfully calm and peaceful 😍👍🏻
