Good morning #Biel #Switzerland ☀️ Glorious view and a crispy air up in Magglingen/Mauclin this morning.

We were up late and are working across many timezones to get a project together. The team at 🍁 #QueensU has been very helpful, and we hope to give them good feedback and a boost in their work.

There will be a short window of opportunity to speak to them again in ~5 hours before the #OpenLegalLab presentations - we aim to have production-ready data, a Pull Request with lots of feedback, and our compelling use cases prepared.

With today’s Teaching Development Conference at #QueensU, it really does feel like the official start of the academic new year—so, Happy New Year!

Today is my new faculty orientation day at #QueensU ! I joined the faculty September 1 last year and missed all the orientation opportunities last cycle, so I am excited to more fully integrate into my new institution today!

It is hard to be seconded to a great lab like #SNOLAB while a faculty member at a beautiful university 6 hours driving away, so I am trying to make time quarterly to be present at Queen's to build and sustain new relationships and community.

Running restaurants is a common path for refugees and immigrants. Like football coaching trees, one success will point the way for others in the community. One of my cousins' in-laws opened a sushi joint that became the template for many of Montreal's Japanese restaurants.

Up ‘til 1am playing Xbox with the kids so I had a Saturday morning sleep in. Trying out the new reading socks my Mom got me, they’re super cozy. My goal today is to get through these four and a half papers but even if I can only get through three I’ll consider the reading socks a success. 👍

For example, how does it change the way TA's have to approach material?

For profs in adjacent departments who will have students much "techier" than average (say a Comp Eng student taking a history elective), what tools do IT, department heads etc. have to put in place?
