IN 1845, FORT ALEXANDRIA, ON THE BANKS OF THE FRASER RIVER south of #Quesnel, #BC, was flooded by rising water caused by a landslide downstream somewhere. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW LAC LA HACHE GOT ITS NAME, but I only know that it is named for an axe which apparently was lost in its waters.
