the BridgeDb Tiwid project ("this is where identifiers die") collects outdated identifiers, and when known, provides information when the identifiers was retired (stopped working) and if there is a replacement identifier.

In the past week two new features got added. ORCIDs can now be provided for who claimed an identifier is retired. Second, the mapping to retired to new identifier are now available as SSSOM. Patches by @cthoyt

Can I convince you or your colleagues to report on some really important and potentially very consequential Internet governance issues that have been going on? This really is kind of a big deal and almost no one is reporting on it. Boosts appreciated.

The Regional Internet Registries (#RIRs) such as #AFRINIC, #APNIC, and #RIPE, which among other things, manage the numbers (e.g., IP addresses) have quite literally been under attack at the governance level.

AFRINIC is currently in a very uncertain state and is probably the place you should start your research. Begin here and work your way backwards or forwards:
