I called them and there aren't #adhd meds in a 30 mile radius. This was day 8.
Meanwhile, it wasn't until tonight that I remembered the biggest reason I take them. #ExecutiveDysfunction is a piece, but #RSD relief is by far the biggest boost.
When the dosage comes thru, I think I'll take one every other day for a while to build up a buffer
An absolutely smashing analogy drawn for me by @oddtail, on the question of "how often should I tell my friends I care for them?" In the context of people with RSD, who seem to make up the majority of my best and most important friends.
It said:
"It's like... I know what ice cream tastes like. But that knowledge is not a substitute for eating ice cream.
"That, with my RSD, is like the difference between knowing someone cares and being told they do. Does that make sense?"
I think this is so clear and visceral (literally, in a way) an analogy that it is going to change how I talk to many of you.
I'm actually not an extrovert, I just play one on Fedi. So combined with an English upbringing, I am rarely expressive of deep emotions for the people I love. I tend to rely on my actions, more than my words, to convey my feelings for people. Words are for learning and communicating info, not my silly emotions.
But my friends hurt and believe bad things about themselves more easily that way.
So I'm gonna try and change. I'm gonna do it my way, of course, because autistic nerd go brr. I'll make a list, and randomise the order, and tell that person, one per day, for now, how much they mean to me.
And when I think of someone else who needs on it, I'll add them to the list. I don't cull for lack of contact either, so I don't take folk off the list.
Small change, but maybe over time the collective good is to benefit? Especially if others got the habit?

I noticed something with #RSD, wondering if it holds true for others...
When RSD stops being able to twist shit about a particular friend, it usually a sign that friendship has failed and needs to be cut loose. RSD can't operate where there is nothing positive and valuable left.
Nothing sets off #RSD quite like having plans to spend time with something, accomplishing whatever is in between me and thar, and... it fizzles in to still being by myself.

Bought this on RSD this year and they really didn't make enough at only 1000 copies. Probably my Reissue of the year because it's so underrated. Ambient 60s style Psychrock. A rare album to find in any format.
