Kurzer Einblick in meine Psyche:
Ich trinke Kaffee gerne mit einem Schuss Milch. Ganz normalen Filterkaffee mit ganz normaler Milch – keine dieser lächerlich teuren Fancy-Lifestyle-Getränke, die heutzutage scheinbar üblich sind.

Heute Morgen habe ich allerdings zur falschen „Milchpackung“ gegriffen. Sie passte in Größe, Gewicht, Form (so ungefähr) und vor allem vom Ort der Aufbewahrung – vorne rechts in der Kühlschranktür. Nur die Aufschrift passte nicht. Statt „Haltbare Vollmilch“ stand dort nämlich: „Bio Apfel Direktsaft, naturtrüb“.

Ich habe den Kaffee trotzdem getrunken, weil ich Verschwendung hasse und unsere Wegwerfmentalität, sobald etwas nicht zu 100 % perfekt ist, noch mehr.

Allerdings werde ich diese Mischung in
Zukunft vermeiden. Genießbar ist sie, aber mit Genuss hat das Ganze wenig zu tun.

Das Foto zeigt eine Küchenarbeitsplatte aus dunklem, leicht marmoriertem Material. Auf der Arbeitsfläche stehen zwei Getränkekartons nebeneinander. Beide Kartons sind überwiegend grün und etwa gleich groß, wodurch sie leicht zu verwechseln sind.

Linker Karton:
Steht aufrecht und ist komplett geschlossen.
Es handelt sich um einen Karton Milch („H-Vollmilch mit 3,5 % Fett“).
Die Rückseite mit Nährwerttabelle ist sichtbar.
Der Verschluss ist ein weißer Drehverschluss oben links.

Rechter Karton:
Ebenfalls ein grüner Karton, aber etwas anders gestaltet.
Es handelt sich um „Bio Apfel Direktsaft, naturtrüb“.
Die Rückseite mit Nährwerttabelle und ein Bio-Siegel sind sichtbar.
Der Verschluss ist grün, befindet sich oben rechts.

1. Had an unexpected laugh at the pharmacy today when I thumped my MiraLAX on the counter and the cashier instantly understood everything from the look on my face.

2. We both laughed, which made the whole “prep supply run” feel a little less dreadful.

3. Still debating which beverage I’m willing to ruin forever after two gallons of this stuff… but at least I’m going into it with some humor.

EDIT: the nurse I talked to yesterday was incorrect - she said 64 ounces was a gallon, but it’s not - it’s 1/2 a gallon. I only need to drink a gallon total of the wretched prep. In my state of panic and horror when talking to her, I didn’t calculate that in my head at the time.

Amazingly, that does make it sound a lot easier for me. Not EASY but EASIER and I’ll take that.

Street Photography — “The Reader”

There I was, standing quietly in the shadow, my camera ready. Across the street, people moved like they always do — eyes fixed on glowing screens, thumbs scrolling endlessly from one three-second clip to the next. But then she appeared.

No phone. No earbuds. Just… a book.
That strange, clunky object made of paper, filled with words and stories — a relic from another time.

As she walked past an abandoned, graffiti-covered house, lost in her own world of ink and imagination, the scene unfolded like a paradox of past and present.
The forgotten building, the fading posters, the sharp sunlight cutting through the dust — and in the middle of it all, someone who remembered how to be still.

Shot with the Canon 5D Mark IV and the Sigma 100-400mm lens — proof that sometimes, the most remarkable street scenes are the quietest ones.

Photography, after all, is just another way of studying light and life.
