I’ve had family in town last week and weekend so haven’t been on Mastodon at all…after work today I hope to get back to posting some of my trip pics.

As I’m up irresponsibly late, I should bring this evening to a close. Wrapping up with some #MilesDavis and a small pour of Bowmore.
Sometimes, you see your favorite #PinkFloyd album at the record store. Sometimes, it’s only $6. And sometimes, you take it home and look it up on Discogs and it’s a 1977 US first pressing. This is one of those times. I’m over the moon. Pretty sure the store owner passed over it because the inner liner was missing.
It has a few pops and clicks and scratches - and if I’m being honest the 2018 remix improved it a bit - but it still sounds amazing!
The “every Blue Note I’ve ever purchased is good” streak continues.

Definitely been on a #Jazz kick lately. Might spin Meshuggah tomorrow, who knows?
But this record is fantastic. Another one of last weekend’s acquisitions that I haven’t listened to yet until tonight. This one is going in the rotation for sure.
A new-to-me but interesting looking record I snagged, also from the #VoA collection. It’s jazz, with some guitar and synth, or “guitar synthesizer,” whatever that is. It’s too late and I’ve had a few drinks so I don’t even want to look it up, lest I wander down a rabbit hole that results in my stumbling to bed at 5:30 in the morning, possibly after finding one on eBay to “play around with.” (I wish I had this kind of attention span in the early part of the day!).
It’s pretty low-volume and relaxed, so I don’t know if I will listen to the whole thing tonight as I’m looking for something a little more upbeat - but will get through side A for sure.
This is my first record on the ECM label, which I’ve heard good things about. Even if it’s not what I’m in the mood for tonight, the recording quality is excellent. I’ll keep an eye out for them.

It’s almost Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for Mudhoney and their record On Top! Recorded live up on top of the Space Needle in Seattle. I listened to this live on KEXP the day of.

This is my first #DrHook - I’ve heard the name but never any of their music, when I saw this for $5 and it looked clean I grabbed it on a whim.
2 songs in and I’m - no pun intended - hooked. Looked them up - they did The Cover of Rolling Stone - never knew!
This was an impulse buy this past weekend, I had never heard of it and it was cheap. The description was super interesting - weird Soviet rock? Yes please!
It’s…honestly cool as hell. Very 80s, almost to the point of being hilariously so. It's hard to describe. If you see this - snag it!
