I switched from Reeder Classic to #Reeder (neue??) about a month ago now, and while I wasn’t sure it would suite my needs at first, I’m a convert. It’s especially great to follow subreddits without having a Reddit account.

My one issue with it is that swiping images away is just way too finicky. I’d love it if it had a Tweetbot-like flick motion to get rid of media.

Am I holding it wrong? 😅

And while I’m on it: I now ditched #feedly and replaced it with a #selfhosted #miniflux.

I had used Feedly since Google Reader was discontinued in 2013 and always liked it, never got ugly on me. But still I want to remove services where good (or better) alternatives exist.

Miniflux can provide a Google-Reader-API so that tools like my #reeder-app can connect in a very good fashion.

I may be a bit of a dunce at times, but I've just discovered I can add all my Youtube subscriptions to Reeder and watch them there...apparently without ads. It even puts them into their own section.

So, £10 a year for #Reeder, vs £14 a month for Youtube Premium. Hmm...

Sorry, I've just been enjoying #Reeder vastly more than before after not trying to use it to read my social networks and just focus on news sources

I still have it connected so I can use it to *search* my timeline, but that's about it

@justincox I have a few in #Reeder which could probably be recreated in Tapestry:

- town happenings: youtube of municipal gov't, local museums & vendors; rss of local papers and blogs; known local hashtags
- new releases: youtubes of movie, tv, game studios that just push out promotional videos of new stuff
- gaming chatter: reddit "top" feeds of games I am actively playing
- podcast news: social profiles of podcasts and their hosts; rss & reddit "hot" feeds of their community boards

I do love the new #Reeder APP. But it strongly needs to have the option of muting or muffling unwanted entries (see #Tapestryapp). The existing filter option does not help in this scenario.

Has someone managed to use the filter option in the new #Reeder app efficiently? I am struggling in finding out how to build such filters. I would love to be able to exclude several keywords. But I can only create „exact matches“, which does not make sense in this case. Helpful advice, anyone? 😉

@rizzi have to say the new keyboard toggles in the latest update for #Reeder macOS for scrolling within timelines are a great add, thank you! Adding confirmation boxes is a nice safe touch too.

To all users of the new #Reeder app out there: Are you using the build in folders LATER, BOOKMARKS and FAVORITES? If so, how do you use them? I have tried to figure it out, but couldn't manage yet... Any ideas?

Are you getting your hands on #TimelineApps lately? Same here. And again and again I have to state that #reeder is my app of choice in this field currently. This goes for the design and the functionality. I am struggling with the use of #surf and don't get very far. #tapestryapp looks quite nice, but I am unable to connect to any Bluesky account. Not even my own. #feeeed is free and has got some nice features, but I do not like the design very much. For me #reeder is the most reliable app here.
