When I was a child, my dad would bring home ribbon candy in a plain white box tied up with red and white string. It was so fine and delicate, it would gently shatter in your mouth and erupt with flavor. I have never been able to find ribbon candy of that quality since.

Back in my teenage years, I took part in a music exchange: our orchestra went to France, and a French choir visited our area in return.

On one of those trips, I had bought an actual French-made wool beret.

"Fabriqué en France
100% Laine"

Just re-found the beret again while sorting stuff out, and realised it's perfect for wearing around the house when we haven't got the heating on! Nice and warm for the top of my head!
