West Coast Self-Storage, LCC. notified me of a new #rent increase this morning.

Rent for a 7.5x10 unit started at $72.00 in September, 2024. Then jumped by 83% to $132.00 on 1 March, 2025 after 5 months of occupancy. Now it's increasing to $191.00 per month starting on 1 March, 2026. It's an almost 70% over last year, and a 165% total increase since the start of my tenancy in September 2024.

Their current advertised rates for the same unit as I rent is between US$99.00 and US$124.00 depending where the unit is located within the facility. The units furthest from the facility entrance, like mine which on the third floor, are the $99.00 dollar units.

I've filed complaints with the Washington State Attorney General and the #BetterBusinessBureau.

I don't suspect anything will come of the complaints, but I'm furious. I live hundreds of miles away. I cannot simply move my belongings to another facility.

Number of people in very deep poverty in UK hits record high

Hardship in #UK has worsened, with about 6.8 million people living in "very deep #poverty" — highest level in more than 30 years — a #charity said on Tuesday
