Biodiversity under the wheels near Repton

"ANGELA Wallace is one of many people upset about the number of koalas being killed on local roads....Little has been done to mitigate these deaths, with another koala recently killed near Repton. “No wonder our iconic koala (dunggirr) is endangered with our roads as ‘killing zones’, deforestation [causing a] loss of habitat, and them trying to survive extreme weather events such as fires and floods.”

So Ripton, despite being a Repton piss-take with level names like Iguanus (og: Iguana) and Giant crap (Giant clam), is somehow… actually good… the levels are well designed & challenging. I bet the dev was very happy when Repton 3 came out next year with an editor. I wonder if they made any levels?

Feeling nostalgic this morning so here's the #Repton 3 in-game tune by Paul Hughes and Peter Clarke. It was the sound of my teenage years on the #BBCMicro back in the mid-80s.

I love the way it managed to combine ragtime, which was Repton's musical style, with contemporary C64 game music.

It's great to be able to look at in #MuseScore and see what an incredible composition this is; it's just 30 bars but you never tire of it whilst you're playing.

Doing a charity stream today at 6:30BST (i.e. in about half an hour). Will be trying to raise money for https://westcheshire.foodbank.org.uk/ which is the foodbank for my home town, while streaming Repton: The Lost Realms for the BBC Micro. Expect a higher than average number of rants about Tories (all opinions my own, not the charity's).

This game is a remaster of an unreleased 1988 sequel to Repton 3, which was found and remastered by http://www.retrosoftware.co.uk/ they released a limited number of physical copies on 5.25" floppy disc, then stopped selling it. When I contacted them about obtaining a copy, they told me to make a donation to a foodbank, send the receipt and they'd send me the disk image for free. I did that, but figured I could go further... I've been meaning to look into the Twitch charity stuff for a while and this gave me a kick up the arse

Well I think I'm done with Life of #Repton. Not only did that last level completely break me, but I then moved on to the senior citizen levels and was immediately hit with both invisible tiles and a "wife bad" joke and I don't wanna stream that.

Sucks that it had to end on such a negative note, but oh well, not the first time I've abandoned a retro game for shitty harmful "humour" and probably won't be the last.

Taking requests/recomendations for the next #BBCMicro game to play next Wednesday.

Time for some more #BBCMicro content. Last time we played, Punk #Repton became a sellout working for a corp. Boo! - still want to find out what happens though.
