It seems that for me, if I choose to be a survivalist individualist person, genuinely based on hardships and effort in trading, then I follow the Chinese way. If I want to be a narcissist who doesn't feel how those poor people feel in the streets every day, making fun of others and using freedom of speech as justification at the expense of respect for others, then U.S. ideologies are better for me. It seems that the Chinese way represents real trading for me; it is based on efforts and hardships, not on control, vendor lock-in, narcissistic reputability, and brands.

It’s something I am trying to keep in mind as we seem to be going through a time where so many are closing their minds off to the minds of others:

So much so that many years later my S/O told me she had been afraid that our relationship was at risk. That was quite the shock to me as it massively expanded my willingness to consider other beliefs and perspectives, and if anything, strengthened my love for her.

But in hindsight I can see why my reassessments of things I was certain of would have caused concern.

18 years ago today, I did my first business trip to Beijing as part of the front-team responsible for setting up a new office and distribution center in China. Except for a few jaunts as a Bus Driver to Canada, I had never been outside of the United States before. I would spend the next 5 years traveling for the organization I worked for as an IT advisor and PM.

It profoundly changed my Worldview:

The Priestess of Punk Propriety talks mosh pit etiquette
There is nothing more important to us here at Punknews than good etiquette. As the late, great Joe Strummer once said, “Punk rock means exemplary manners to your fellow human beings” and we couldn’t agree more.

ChatGPT making things up about the article:
This article is an interview with Mykel Board, a punk writer and musician and self-proclaimed "Priestess of Punk Propriety". Board talks about basic rules of mosh pit etiquette and how to have a fun and safe time in any punk show. She advises people to look out for each other, to not "over-moshing," and to make sure to remember the golden rule: respect everyone. Board believes that mosh pits should be an expression of joy, though they can require a lot of mindfulness and self-awareness.
