Ich selbst fahre die #Yep #Uptimizer und finde die top. V.a. auch der Remotehebel ist 🤩, weil man ihn wie einen Joystick in alle Richtungen drücken kann. Ich finde das super.

Der Eventide Blackhole Immersive ist die mehrkanalfähige Version des kreativen Reverbs, die Konfigurationen bis 9.1.6 unterstützt. Was sich damit im 3D-Klangraum anstellen lässt, habe ich in einem Dolby-Atmos-Studio getestet.

Mit Blackhole haben Eventide bereits vor über 20 Jahren den Grundstein für einen Reverb gelegt, der die Musik- und Filmlandschaft prägen sollte. 1999 wurde dessen Algorithmus als Teil des DSP4000-Systems eingeführt. 2012 wurde der Algorithmus erstmals in Form eines Stereo-Plug-ins veröffentlicht – das ist durchaus überraschend, denn Surround- und immersive Formate waren auch damals schon zumindest in der Filmbranche etabliert.Sieben Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung des Plug-ins, 2019, wurde Blackhole auf iOS portiert und als App zugänglich gemacht. 2020 folgte dann die Markteinführung in Form eines Reverb-Pedals. Und schließlich kam 2023 eine mehrkanalfähige Version des Plug-ins auf den Markt. Diese bekam im Januar dieses Jahres nochmal ein fettes Update spendiert, das die Unterstützung von Lautsprecherkonfigurationen bis 9.1.6 sowie Upmixing und neue Presets mit sich brachte.

Da es sich bei Blackhole um einen Reverb mit kreativem beziehungsweise Sounddesign-Ansatz handelt, ist es besonders spannend zu testen, was sich damit in einem dreidimensionalen Klangraum anstellen lässt. Um das herauszufinden durfte ich mich im Studio F der msm-studios München austoben, das mit einem 9.1.6-Monitoring-System ausgestattet und sowohl Dolby Atmos als auch Auro-3D zertifiziert ist.

I'm in the process of improving the fx(reverb) in the browser version of Mercury. The current webaudio reverb is quite limited and sounds terrible. But the upcoming version will have an implementation of the famous Dattorro reverberator https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~dattorro/EffectDesignPart1.pdf

Soon will be merged with the main version if there are no more issues.
