Black & White Rhinoceroses (both two-horned species) were native to Egypt in pre-dynastic times, but were likely extinct by the Early Dynastic Period. Still, rhinos remained known to later Egyptians through contacts & trade with other regions, and likewise were known in the Greco-Roman world, including being imported & put on display in Rome itself.
