There was a lovely article this week in the #SFChronicle by Esther Mobley celebrating Steve Edmunds. He’s made soulful wines for 40 years, in a style that’s been consistent with who he is: thoughtful, understated, respectful of tradition without being bound by it.

I’m very happy #RhoneRangers will be honoring him with a lifetime achievement award this summer, and he’ll get the chance to see how much his work has meant to those of us in the American Rhone community.

@megmaker At Château des Fines Roches we tasted a 100% Vaccarèse #Châteauneuf. I mentioned that Tablas Creek bottled a #varietal Vaccarèse, and the proprietor said, I know, we've exchanged bottles. #wine #Rhône #RhôneRangers

An original Rhone Ranger, Bob Lindquist has been making wine on the Central Coast since 1982. His focus has been on Rhone varieties and Chardonnay from some of the best cool climate vineyards in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. Bob Lindquist is a pioneer in the Central Coast. He made the first Syrah in Santa Barbara County in 1982; he made the first Marsanne made in California and the first cool climate Bien Nacido Syrah in 1987; he made the first Red Rhone blend in Santa Barbara in 1988; He made the first Viognier in Santa Barbara in 1989.
