Firma iRobot wprowadziła na polski rynek nowy model robota sprzątającego – Roomba® Max 705 Vac. Urządzenie wyróżnia się m.in. zastosowaniem nawigacji LiDAR, systemem rozpoznawania przeszkód opartym na sztucznej inteligencji oraz stacją dokującą z funkcją automatycznego opróżniania zbiornika, która według deklaracji producenta ma pozwolić na pracę bez ingerencji użytkownika nawet przez 75 dni.
Sercem nowego modelu jest system nawigacji LiDAR ClearView, który umożliwia precyzyjne mapowanie pomieszczeń, w tym tworzenie map 3D, oraz efektywne poruszanie się robota. Współpracuje on z technologią PrecisionVision z AI, odpowiadającą za rozpoznawanie i omijanie przeszkód, takich jak kable, buty czy nieczystości pozostawione przez zwierzęta domowe. Robot wyposażony jest również w czujniki wysokości Cliff Detect, zapobiegające spadaniu ze schodów.
Za sprzątanie odpowiada system składający się z dwóch gumowych szczotek głównych z technologią Anti-Tangle, minimalizującą zaplątywanie się sierści i włosów oraz silnika generującego moc ssącą na poziomie 13 000 Pa. Funkcja Carpet Boost automatycznie zwiększa moc ssania po wykryciu dywanu.
Jedną z głównych cech modelu Roomba Max 705 Vac jest stacja AutoEmpty. Po zakończeniu sprzątania robot automatycznie opróżnia swój wewnętrzny zbiornik na kurz do szczelnego worka znajdującego się w stacji. Producent twierdzi, że worek ten może pomieścić zanieczyszczenia z nawet 75 dni codziennego użytkowania, co znacząco ogranicza częstotliwość obsługi urządzenia przez użytkownika.
Robot wykorzystuje również technologię Dirt Detective, która na podstawie danych z poprzednich cykli sprzątania analizuje poziom zabrudzenia poszczególnych pomieszczeń i ustala priorytety sprzątania, koncentrując się na najbardziej wymagających obszarach.

I'm thinking of replacing the soft landing connectors in the base with real plugs. That way I will be sure it will get good contact.
I'll loose the autodock feature, but I never used it. I have at least 3 rooms and a hall where I use it, and I never move the base. It also means I mostly can use it only once per day, but I can definitely live with that.
Any suggestions for the plug?
So, if you are wondering why I was late to start live post yesterday, this is what I was trying to fix with my friend: It's a Roomba.
First time I've seen a motherboard of a clean base covered in plastic blister pack. Most likley to prevent dust from getting in, but it made it pain in a butt to repair.

1. We fixed the problem of the robot hoover going in circles. There was ten years of dust behind the drive wheel, which forced the wheel off the drive shaft and so it just spun around without gripping the shaft. Cleaned out the crud and it seated back on the shaft nicely.
2. Yesterday's South Island Randonnée was grand, steaming along the Military Road at 40kph in the wake of some much stronger people. I managed it for a bit and then backed off to save some legs for the Freshwater hills. Wish I hadn't, now!
3. The rest of my group got in a panic about missing the ferry so skipped the last control point. I did the last control, this completing the course, and got back to the ferry with a huge margin of two minutes to spare. To say my friends were surprised to see me... and I have the bragging rights for a whole year.
