Well, that was unexpected: I went from having cancelled all plans for a live stream to holding an impromptu 6 hour Steam/DJathon!

Halfway through the stream I was playing some music by my old band vov, as can be seen in the lower third. The screen shows the Bonk Wave Pig in front of a video of a tropical beach. The top and bottom of the screen are partly covered by a purple spectrum visualiser.

Just before bedtime Rubia The Cat joined us for some chilled tunes, so naturally I had to set up a kitten cam.

The picture shows a tortoiseshell cat on a red/purple pillow in front of an IKEA Kallax mostly filled with 12" vinyl.

The top and bottom of the screen are partly covered by a pink and orange spectrum visualiser.

Oops, apologies to everyone who had liked and commented already- I wasn't meaning to make this a followers-only post, so I had to delete and redraft.

Slightly last minute for my time zone of choice here's my offering to the #caturday deities.

A tabby cat is looking into my office through the mosquito netting-covered window with a mix of curiosity and disdain. She's also trying to look like she hasn't been fed for days, but I can see through that.

Right behind her is a solar panel that I have zip tied to the fencing outside the window. It's one of her favourite spots, because it provides shade from the midday sun, but allows here to spy on the birds in the palm trees at the same time as keeping an eye on me.

On the terrace there is another solar panel, which I am currently running in series with the other one, but might experiment with running in parallel soon.

Even further back is the above mentioned date palm tree with the pittance of dates the birds have left us, despite Rubia's guard.

On the other side of the street a lone 'ornamental' olive tree is standing in front of a giant new house that is blocking our view. (no, I'm NOT BITTER AT ALL)

I think #RubiaTheCat is expressing pretty well how we're all feeling this #Caturday!

Me and #RubiaTheCat spent most of this fine #Caturday figuring out how to make an instrument for @dhilowitz's excellent #DecentSampler plugin.

For a first attempt we sampled the #vibraphone patch on my 40-year-old #Casio Casiotone MT-70 synth.

It'd be lovely if someone who uses DecentSampler could give it a test run and send feedback my way!

Rubia, a tabby cat is chilling on a nice comfy red pillow while listening to Radio Free Fedio through an old red Bakelite radio from the 1940s that has been converted into a Bluetooth speaker (among several other things).

As I'm still away from my lovely kittehs, this #Caturday features a repost of when #RubiaTheCat was on inspection duties to make sure I am doing a proper job cutting each olive to be brined individually before submerging them in fresh water.

I am wearing gloves as the olive juices can stain skin for days.

Once done the water needs changing daily to remove the olives' bitterness before they can be brined and jarred.
