Some data:
- 20 miles out, 16 miles back (I missed a turn and had to backtrack; also tried to find a safer route to come home, Burleson Rd is not bike friendly, despite the bike lane )
- app says I rode 16 miles of roads I'd never ridden before. And I've now covered 6.8% of the roads in Travis County. 🤪
- Total riding time: ~3.5h;
- Total trip time: ~18h (definitely counts as #S24O 😄)

After internalizing my past suffering with cold #Winter weather and the fear of #hypothermia (which I've experienced on rides: https://flic.kr/s/aHskkRDRMc ) I've fallen out of love with century-level rides during the cold season. To add to that, some of my rides towards the end of last Summer have ended up pretty disheartening.

I think the best thing to do is to keep the rides shorter (at most a few hours) during the cold season and plan for some more interesting #S24O / multi-day rides in the future. Why try to cram all of the miles into one day when I can split things up and enjoy things more? #cycling #bicycle #bicycletouring #biketouring

I should also find some folks to go #bikepacking with. Any takers?
