I was recently introduced to "Sanda", a one-season anime about a magical boy who transforms from a teenager into a big bara Santa Claus, with x-men style "santa powers" like the ability to extrude metal ski blades from his feet.

the animation is good and steers clear of same-face syndrome, everyone is dynamic and expressive even in still frames. and the writing knows what its about too. this is a story about youth and innocence. becoming Santa at such a young age means being forced into an adult's body and adult dilemmas, like "what if a nice kid wishes for something i can't or shouldn't grant?"
