In the top first quarter of the picture is a strip of bright blue sky. Then a white strip of clouds occupies the middle part of the picture, with a small white bright cloud in it, looking very much like a check or a comma. Under is another strip of blue sky, narrower and paler. The lower part of the picture is occupied by strips of white and pale pink and orange clouds, over and mixing with the dark silhouettes of trees at the horizon.

Photograph of a blue sky at sunrise, showing different kinds of clouds floating at different altitudes, over a rounded dark horizon. White clouds looking like horizontal lines, like a ladder, seemed to be immobile and very high in altitude. More chubby clouds were coming from the left over the horizon, with darker grey underbellies and illuminated on top. And central to the picture, five golden and merry little clouds coming out of nowhere came flying very fast, looking much closer than the rest, just to say hello maybe. I wish I knew all the right names for these clouds 😉

In the centre of the photo is a maypole. This is a long, narrow pole wrapped with fir branches. A kind of crown is attached to the upper end, also wrapped in fir branches. Colourful strips of fabric blow in the wind from the crown. More branches can be seen on top of the crown. This is a custom for 1 May. Ship masts can be seen to the left and right of the maypole. All against a cloudy sky.
